The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao receives Conrado Moya once again this Saturday, November 24, with a solo marimba recital in the framework of the global solidarity movement ‘Fair Saturday‘. The concert, which benefits will go to the ‘Dar Al Karama’ association, will feature a premiere, composed for the occasion by Christos Hatzis and performed together with the soprano Nora Franco Madariaga.
Right after the ‘Black Friday’ shopping day, the ’Fair Saturday’ foundation tries to channel this massive mobilization of capital during the last weekend of November towards social purposes, through Arts and Culture. Since its birth in 2014, the ‘Fair Saturday’ has organized events for social purposes with important international artists, significantly increasing its presence in the most prominent cities in the world to become, eventually, a global solidarity movement. After a collaboration agreement, Conrado Moya will participate in this solidarity movement with a solo marimba recital at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
In the recital, which will take place this Saturday, November 24, at 6pm in the atrium of the Frank Gehry’s most emblematic museum, Conrado Moya will present some of the most outstanding works for solo marimba and will premiere a new score together with the soprano Nora Franco Madariaga, ‘Haikus’, written for the occasion by the Greek-Canadian composer Christos Hatzis and dedicated to both artists.
The benefits generated by this concert will go entirely to ‘Dar Al Karama’, an association to help the Saharawi people whose main objective is to care for sick children from the refugee camps of the Sahara desert and with which Conrado Moya has been collaborating every year for almost a decade.
Both the audience and all those who will not be able attend the concert, can collaborate with donations to the ‘Dar Al Karama’ association through the following account number:
