Bach: Goldberg Variations

The Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, are considered to be one of Johann Sebastian Bach’s greatest masterpieces and one of the finest examples of polyphonic art in the history of music. Katarzyna Myćka and Conrado Moya confront this technical and musical challenge in a duo for marimbas: a pioneer project which strictly observes the rules of Baroque interpretation and ornamentation, and also explores and makes use of the enormous sound potential of modern marimbas. In doing so, the audience is given an unprecedented perspective which puts the marimba on a whole new plane as a musical instrument.
